Our Philosophy

Sustainability... Yes, we care!

Kolt loves you! ...and the planet!
Sustainable, fair products and environmentally friendly shipping is important for us. That's why our products combine all the aspects we care about:

  • climate-friendly production
  • ecological, vegan and recycled materials
  • fair and social working conditions
  • climate-friendly & plastic-free shipping

The biggest part of our clothes is made of ecological and environmentally friendly materials which use only a small amount of water and energy, which emit only a small amount of CO2 and which get made with only small amounts of chemicals.
Fair & social is important for us, which is why we offer clothes, which are made under humane working conditions and invest money in the future of the workers. The production of vegan clothes is decision against animal exploitation and for the planet. Intensive livestock farming is unworthy and one of the biggest reasons for climate change.

Environmentally friendly, plastic-free shipping is important for us. That's why we use boxes form returns again. This means that the box which comes to you may have a little scratch or mark. We don't find this bad and we hope you think so, too. The materials for our cardboard boxes get sourced and processed locally.

Here is a quick overview on the labels of our clothes:

EarthPositive® are climate-friendly, vegan T-shirts and sweatshirt made of GOTS-certified bio-cotton. Produced ethically and sustainably with renewable energies with reduced CO2 footprint

The EarthPositive® collection is the first of it's kind which combines all of the following aspects: vegan, climate-friendly, environmentally friendly, made of bio-cotton under fair and ethical working conditions.

Products carrying the Salvage symbol are made from 100% recycled materials

We salvage the cuttings from organic cotton textile production, shred them and turn back into soft cotton fibres. We add fibres made from locally recycled plastic bottles to obtain the cotton and polyester blend. We spin the blended fibres into fine yarn to make fabrics. Finally, we finish the production with care to create a high-quality product.Salvage labelled products are certified under the Global Recycle Standard (GRS) and the Organic Content Standard (OCS) by the Control Union Certifications.

Products certified with the Fair Share® label carry a small price premium that is passed directly on to the garment workers in India towards their Living Wage

A living wage is a human right. The Fair Share® AUFSCHLAG is important so that workers in huge factories earn enough money for surviving. Only through this financial freedom it's possible for the workers to invest in an additional health insurance or to allow their children a good level of education. In addition, Fair Share® articles are  certified for their fair working conditions by the Fair Wear foundation.

The Fair Wear Foundation stands up for fair working conditions in textile production, e.g. in Asia and Africa. It's an independent foundation, working together with clothing labels, textile workers and big players in the  industry to improve working conditions in textile factories.

The FWF works together with companies of the textile industry who want their products to be made under fair and ethic conditions. The work of the FWF is based on the idea of "mutual responsibility": Every link in the supply chain is responsible for the conditions under which a product is produced. That's because even decisions by managements of european companies can have a huge impact on the working conditions in countries which are far away.

The Oeko-Tex standard 1000 certifies production facilities throughout the entire supply chain regarding the ecological and social production condtions. The Oeko-Tex standard 100plus combines the Oeko-Tex standard 100 - it's a label for the product and means that the product was tested for harmful substances and that it's a human-ecological harmless product. The OEKO-Tex Standard 100 is an independent certification system for every stage of textile production.
